Defiance Clinic Welcomes New Radiology Specialists
Defiance Clinic has enhanced and expanded its radiology services through
association with the specialists of Consulting Radiologists Corporation (CRC),
of Toledo.
CRC is a group of 11 radiologists, many with fellowship training in
subspecialized areas of radiology. Each practices general diagnostic radiology
and each also has a particular area of interest and expertise.
CRC is providing three board-certified radiologists for full-time coverage
for Defiance Clinic and Mercy Hospital of Defiance. They are: David M. Glowacki,
M.D., Don L. Cox, M.D., and Bruce R. Siders, D.O. The on-site physicians will
also be consulting with their partners via the Internet.
“This is an experienced group with a wide range of advanced training and
expertise that will benefit our patients,” said Allen L. Gaspar, M.D., chairman
of the board of Defiance Clinic.
Added Dr. Siders, who is also medical director of CRC’s private imaging center,
“Defiance Clinic has high end Radiology equipment and a top-notch staff as evidenced
by their accreditation by the American College of Radiology, not only for digital
mammography, but also for numerous additional services. That’s quite an achievement,
and we look forward to building on this excellent foundation.”
The Radiology Department is ACR-accredited in breast ultrasound, CT (computed
tomography), mammography, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. The department also provides
radiography, fluoroscopy, and MRI. An additional service, PET (positron emission
tomography) is provided in a mobile unit in cooperation with Mid-American Imaging, Inc.
Dr. Siders’ special interests include musculoskeletal radiology, body imaging,
magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), computed tomography angiography (CTA), high
field 3T MRI, and screening studies. Dr. Glowacki’s interests are gastrointestinal
radiology, body and musculoskeletal MRI, CT and screening studies including virtual
colonoscopy. Dr. Cox also trained as an interventional radiologist in addition to his
interests in MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, mammography, body imaging and general radiology.
“We will also be able to confer with colleagues at other facilities virtually, that
is by sharing digital images via the Internet whenever that is in the patient’s best
interest,” Dr. Siders explained. “We have colleagues with expertise in wide range of
fields from ultrasound and nuclear studies to adult and pediatric neuroradiology.”
