Edmundo A. Somoza, M.D., Radiology

Edmundo A. Somoza, M.D., has joined James P. Eisenberg, M.D., and John A. Mitchell, M.D., in the practice of radiology. Together they will be providing cross-coverage for both Henry County Hospital and Mercy Community Hospital of Defiance, the joint venture facility being built by St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, and Defiance Clinic. Dr. Somoza will continue to be based primarily at Henry County Hospital where he has served since 1983.

"After having been in solo practice for the last 15 years, joining Defiance Clinic has given me the opportunity to share responsibilities with the two other radiologists at the Clinic, Drs. Eisenberg and Mitchell. I have been warmly received by the staff at the Clinic and am looking forward to a mutually satisfying relationship with all the physicians and staff there," Dr. Somoza said.

Dr. Somoza received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in Manila. His postgraduate work includes a residency in Internal Medicine in the Philippines, a straight medical internship at the College of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey, a residency in pathology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, N.J., a residency in radiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and radiology fellowships at the University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham and the U.S. Public Health Service Hospitals in Stanton Island, N.Y. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology.
